About me

I am a clinical psychologist, with extensive training and experience in CBT, who specialises in CBT for people with different types of anxiety. These include phobias, panic, social phobia, GAD, OCD, BDD, health anxiety and PTSD. I also have extensive experience of working with people suffering from depression, relationship and personality difficulties and difficult experiences such as early trauma.

I have worked as a clinician in NHS adult mental health (primary, secondary and tertiary care) for more than 20 years, during which time I have also supervised and trained other clinicians. I am associate clinical lecturer at the University of Newcastle, where I have supervised, tutored and trained cognitive therapists on the PGDipCBT. I have worked at the Newcastle CBT Centre, a specialist tertiary CBT service for those with more complex problems.

I am fully accredited as a cognitive therapist, supervisor and trainer with the BABCP. I am a chartered psychologist and an associate fellow with the British Psychological Society. I am HCPC registered.
