About me

Mr Gurdeep Biring is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon based at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT) since 2007. He is Arthroplasty Lead at BHT and the Director of the Hip2kneeclinic. He operates his private practice from the BMI - Chiltern & Shelburne Hospitals.
He specialises in Lower Limb Reconstructive Hip and Knee Surgery and is fellowship trained in all contemporary techniques with a particular interest in hip and knee arthroscopy, primary hip / knee joint replacement, hip resurfacing, revision joint replacement surgery, sports injuries and minimally invasive joint replacement surgery.
Gurdeep Biring studied medicine at Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School, University of London. He trained in Trauma & Orthopaedics on the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Rotation (Stanmore), where he developed a keen interest in lower limb arthroplasty surgery, which led to academic research presentations, and publications in the treatment of patients receiving joint replacement. He completed a Master of Science Degree in Orthopaedic Engineering with ‘Distinction’ in 2003. After successfully completing the FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedic) Intercollegiate Specialty Board Examination in 2004, he was awarded a Royal College of Surgeons of England Surgical Research Grant to pursue a Specialist Fellowship in Hip and Knee Reconstruction at the world renowned Vancouver General & Health Sciences Centre in 2005-6.
Other awards have included The ‘British Hip Society’ 2007 European Travelling Fellowship to the ‘EndoKlinik’, and a Hip Arthroscopy Travelling Fellowship in the world famous Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado with Marc Philippon. In 2010, he was awarded the Davenport Research Award from Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust to study the treatment Femoro-acetabular Impingement.
Mr Biring offers a comprehensive understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions affecting the lower limb such as sports injuries and arthritis. He continues to perform research in the field of hip & knee surgery and maintains strong academic links with North America, Europe and Bucks New University.
His aim is to provide a caring patient centred approach with prompt diagnosis and rapid rehabilitation and enhanced recovery utilizing contemporary joint restoration and replacement techniques.
Mr Gurdeep Biring is honoured to be an integral part of the Buckinghamshire Hospitals Orthopaedic Service and is committed to further improving this acclaimed programme.
During his spare time, Mr Gurdeep Biring enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons. His interests include golf, cricket, travel and comedy.
