About me
Raghu Vindlacheruvu qualified as a doctor from Cambridge University in 1993. Following basic surgical training in London he spent eight fruitful years in Newcastle as a specialist registrar in neurosurgery. In this period he amassed excellent surgical experience across the full range of neurosurgical procedures and also undertook research.
In 2006 he became a consultant neurosurgeon at Oldchurch Hospital, Romford, Essex, moving to Queen’s Hospital, Romford later that year. Raghu lead the neurosurgery department for nearly 8 years, creating huge growth in the team of doctors and nurses, and in the departments footprint across 2 hospitals. He stepped doen in Autumn 2022 to focus on 3 exciting National Neurosurgical projects: He is the current President of the British Neurovascular Group, which is associated with a position on the SBNS Council - which runs British Neurosurgery. He leads the Green Surgery project for neurosurgery. He was also recruited on to the National Neurosurgery EDI Committee..
Raghu Vindlacheruvu has expertise in a range of back and neck operations, including cervical disc replacement and minimally invasive techniques (keyhole surgery) for the decompression of spinal cord and nerve roots in degenerative disease of the spine (spondylosis) and treatment of benign and malignant tumours.
