About me
Dr Coy has practised as a Consultant Rheumatologist at Salisbury Hospital since 2006, providing excellent care to patients presenting with a broad range of rheumatological and musculoskeletal conditions. In addition, Dr Coy is accredited in Rehabilitation Medicine and has a Masters Degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine, allowing her to offer a unique, efficient and comprehensive service to diagnose and holistically manage musculoskeletal and systemic rheumatological conditions, with the aim of improving symptoms and optimising function and quality of life.
Until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Coy was Clinical Services Lead for the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre, based at Salisbury NHS Trust, where she worked with, and supported, all the disciplines involved, to improve the outcomes achieved by individuals who sustained a spinal cord injury.
Dr Coy is an expert in the management of sports-related rheumatological and musculoskeletal complaints, having been involved with many international multi-sports events, including working with the Great Britain Paralympic team. She is a member of the University of Bath Sports and Exercise Medicine (SEM) faculty, and is a tutor and examiner of fellow doctors. Dr Coy is passionate about implementing her expertise in rehabilitation to optimise management and outcomes.
She has a particular clinical interest in axial spondyloarthritis and currently sits on the Executive Committee of BritSpA (British Society for Spondyloarthritis). Dr Coy is also invested in the relatively new concept of Lifestyle Medicine, and is committed to promoting changes in lifestyle to both treat and prevent chronic illness.
