About me
I graduated in 1999 from Huddersfield University with a BSc(Hons) Degree in Podiatry and specialised in Musculoskeletal Podiatry within the NHS from 2002. In 2003, I began work as a Specialist Orthopaedic Practitioner for Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where I worked exclusively within Orthopaedics, specialising in the foot and ankle. In 2006, I became Co-Director of Walkrite Limited and currently work part-time for Walkrite as an MSK Specialist Podiatrist as well as working as a Surgical Care Practitioner within a team of specialist Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic Surgeons at Northampton General Hospital.
As an MSK Specialist Podiatrist, I have gone on to work within Orthopaedic Surgery as an Orthopaedic Surgical Practitioner, in the field of lower limb surgery, specifically in regard to the foot & ankle. This provides me with a highly specialised understanding of the functional anatomy of the lower limb and how this relates to lower limb mechanics and pain with regard to the non-surgical treatment of the foot and ankle, which is my area of specialist interest.
I am a Fellow of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and also a Fellow of the College of Podiatric Medicine in recognition of my extended scope of practice within the field of Orthopaedics. I am also an Associate Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (England) as a Surgical Care Practitioner.
I also completed further post-graduate training in 2017 to become an AHP Independent Prescriber. In 2022 I was awarded a Post Graduate Certificate (with Distinction) in Orthopaedic Trauma Science from the Queen Mary University of London.
