About me

Dr Sushen Bhattacharyya qualified as a doctor in 1989 in India and was awarded honours and several Gold Medals in his medical exams.

He was appointed Consultant Physician in General Medicine and Geriatrics at Northwick Park Hospital in 2006 after completing his training in Hertfordshire and St Mary’s hospital in London .

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London and a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.

He has received Excellence Awards in Teaching (Imperial College) as well as for Innovation, Research & Development He has also received Clinical Excellence Awards in his NHS practice .

He is the course director for the IMPACT course for Northwest London hospitals NHS trust. He remains actively involved in teaching and training undergraduate and postgraduate medical students .

Dr Sushen Bhattacharyya’s clinical work includes Acute and General Medicine providing his expertise and consultation for adults with multiple medical problems. He heads the Orthogeriatrics services in his NHS practice providing a safe and effective service for patients with complex medical problems. This service has won awards for their performance.

He has a holistic approach to the management of multiple and complex chronic medical conditions such as syncope and drop attacks, Fraility, Falls, Pre-operative and post-operative assessment and stroke rehabilitation.

He is keen to get patients and their family members involved in the care and understands the importance of timely communication for effective treatment and management.

He has a keen interest in Western and Eastern classical music. He enjoys cricket and was a middle order batsman and off-spin bowler.

He is married with two lovely daughters.
