About me

I offer sessions face to face in a consulting room on the edge of Bath, or remotely via video link using a platform such as Zoom, or by 'phone.

I am an experienced and accredited counsellor trained to post graduate level offering therapy to individuals and couples. I have practised for over 25 years with 12 years’ prior experience as an Occupational Therapist in mental health in both the NHS and the private sector, including head of department at The Priory Hospital, London. I have two main areas of practice: 1) working with individuals and couples who are experiencing emotional distress and need a safe place to express this and explore solutions; 2) brain injury counselling. This is informed by 14 years as a counsellor in a specialist brain injury unit. I offer an in depth understanding of the psychological and emotional effects of living with long term conditions such as stroke, arthritic conditions, neurological conditions. My approach is integrative, meaning that I am trained and skilled in a number of different psychological modalities including mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy and am able to incorporate these into my therapeutic work according to need. I am trained to work with couples and will meet with any pairs of family members e.g. parent and adult child. I offer short (eight sessions) and longer term therapy.
