About me
Prof Simon Williams is a Consultant Cardiologist at Wythenshawe Hospital, South Manchester where he is clinical lead for heart failure. He has previously been Cardiology specialty lead (2010-2013). He practices in all aspects of clinical cardiology and his specialist interest is in heart failure. He also attends the Christie hospital weekly for Cardiology problems in cancer patients.
He is the immediate past Chair of the British Society for Heart Failure (BSH) board and has previously served on the board as Councillor (2011-2013), Treasurer (2013-2015), Deputy Chair (2015-2017), Chair Elect (2017-2019) and Chair (2019-2021). He was the (Co) programme director for the BSH national meetings in 2012, 2015, 2017 & 2019
Simon is a past board member of the British Association of cardiac prevention and rehabilitation (BACPR) and British Cardiac Society (BCS)

He has acted as a clinical expert to NICE to approve new drugs for use in heart failure. He sits on the board of the NHS 10 year plan (2019-present).
