About me

Richard trained at Nottingham Medical School graduating BM, BS in 1994.

After House Jobs at Queen’s Medical Centre he was appointed as a Lecturer in Human Anatomy for a year at Nottingham University.

Basic surgical training in the Mersey region followed - attaining FRCSEd in 1999. He then progressed onto higher surgical training in Trauma & Orthopaedics in the Mersey region qualifying FRCSEd(Tr&Orth) in 2004.

Having developed a sub-specialist interest in knee surgery Richard undertook a Fellowship at Wrightington Hospital – the hospital set up by Sir John Charnley, the pioneer of modern joint replacement surgery.

Richard specializes in all aspects of knee surgery including: Primary & Revision knee arthroplasty, unicompartmental knee arthroplasty, knee ligament reconstruction, meniscal surgery & articular cartilage surgery. He also performs primary total hip arthroplasty.
