About me
Consultant Cardiologist in Nottingham since 2005 and currently Head of Service for Cardiology. I see patients with any heart related complaints: chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations or blackouts. I have particular expertise in the management of angina with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or angioplasty and stents and the closure of patent foramen ovale (PFO) for secondary prevention of stroke. I see patients with valvular heart disease and have expertise in Mitral Valvuloplasty, Transcatheter Edge to Edge Repair (TEER) and closure of para-valvar leaks.
My main current research interests is the treatment of chronic total occlusions (CTO) of coronary arteries by PCI to relieve angina. I have contributed to several multinational publications in this area and have been a leader in miniaturising arterial access for these procedures via the radial arteries.
