About me
Dr Sinclair is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a Senior Practitioner on the Register of Psychologists Specialising in Psychotherapy (BPS) and a Chartered Scientist registered with the Science council.
He has gained several years' clinical experience treating individuals, couples, families and groups experiencing a wide range of emotional difficulties and more severe mental health presentations both within the National Health Service and the private sector. He is the consultant to a number of occupational health departments in the City of London, assisting with employees' stress management, well-being and performance. He provides mindfulness-based resilience and stress management training to corporate executives. He is experienced as a clinical supervisor and continues to be involved in the training and supervision of other psychologists and psychotherapists.
He is the Managing Director, the Lead Consultant Psychologist and Clinical Director of City Psychology Group (CPG). He is based in the City of London (Liverpool Street, Canary Wharf) and Harley Street as well as onsite within large FTSE 100 companies providing psychological interventions including, assessment and treatment of the highest quality. Furthermore, he provides psychological consultancy, coaching and supervision to managers working in the legal and financial industries.
He has held positions as a psychologist within schools, specialist mental health clinics and GP's surgeries. He fulfilled the role of Lead Specialist Psychologist in HIV/HCV co-infection at The Royal Free Hospital, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of psychological assessments for patients starting invasive treatment before establishing his private practice in central London.
He has an interest and developed speciality in brief psychological therapy and bringing about meaningful change for his clients in the shortest possible time.
He is a skilled practitioner utilising an integrative treatment approach based on cognitive behavioural (CBT), rational emotive behaviour (REBT), systemic, psychodynamic and person centred paradigms within a time-limited and focussed framework. His approach is firmly based in contextual CBTs and he is highly proficient in the delivery of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-based therapies.
He has held various positions as specialist trainer and lecturer at The Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, Roche Pharmaceuticals and City University. He is the author of a range of self-help texts and is often visible in the media.
