About me

I graduated from Guy’s Hospital Medical School in 1993 before undertaking specialist training in Cardiology across a number of London Teaching hospitals including a period of research into coronary physiology and cardiac stress testing as an MRC Fellow at Imperial College London. I was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow and Barts and the London in 2005 before moving to the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre in 2007.

I am accredited in all aspects of general cardiology and I have specific interests in coronary artery disease & percutaneous coronary stenting and treatment of aortic valve disease with minimally invasive transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).

I am currently appointed as Medical Director for Cardiothoracic | Vascular | Renal | Critical Care
Mid and South Essex NHS Trust and Consultant Cardiologist at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow. I am also the Essex Cardiac Lead for the East of England Strategic Clinical Network.

Research interests

I continue to maintain an interest in research in coronary artery disease and interventional cardiology and am involved in a number of clinical trials and registries investigating outcomes and new treatments in interventional cardiology based at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre. Many of these projects have led to presentations at both national and international cardiology meetings.
