About me

I use positive psychology principles to help you work through distress, build hope and where possible find solutions. I will build a collaborative relationship to support you in meeting your goals - whether these are to feel brighter, more relaxed or more confident in overcoming the challenges that bring you to therapy. We may start with the past, but with a real focus on improving day to day experiences whilst making way for your preferred future. You should expect to feel some changes within 3-4 sessions, and it's unlikely I'll need to work with you beyond 8-10 sessions (although if longer term psychotherapy is needed, we can plan for it).

I have 23years experience working with individuals, couples, children and families. I have led services in my previous NHS role, which I left in 2018. I can help with a range of issues, to include depression, anxiety, OCD, habit problems, grief, self-esteem, eating disorder, trauma based stress and personality issues. I often work with couples who want more from their relationship together, are struggling to keep together or experiencing domestic abuse concerns.

I am able to assist in diagnostic matters such as ADHD, Attachment Disorders, Autism and Personality Issues. I have extensive experience as a court appointed Expert Psychologist, although I prefer not take this kind of work on nowadays.

I completed my Doctor of Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) qualification in 1998. I also have a Psychology Degree (BSc Hons), European Certificate in Health Psychology and an advanced
Post-Graduate Diploma in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy (PGDip)

I am a Chartered Psychologist, registered with the British Psychological Society. I am also a Registered Practitioner with the HCPC, having eligibility for registration with the UKCP and AFT.

I work from my own clinic base, Solihull Well Being Clinic, where I am a Co-Director. The clinic has grown to become a widely known hub for psychology, counselling, holistic and complimentary therapies. You can follow me on facebook, youtube, twitter, instagram and the like - I regularly post wellbeing videos and messages.
