About me

Dr. Thillainayagam Muthukumar MBBS, MD, FRCR, Dip SEM (UK) is a Consultant Radiologist. My medical training were at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sewagram, India; Christian Medical College & Hospital, Vellore, India; and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Scotland. I completed a one-year MSK radiology fellowship at the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Oswestry.

I was appointed Consultant Radiologist at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, London; and Hony Senior Lecturer in Institute of Orthopaedics, UCL in March 2005. I am a core member of the clinical teams specializing in bone and soft tissue sarcoma, complex spine and neurospine, joint surgery and reconstruction, and rheumatology. My key skills are in MDT decision-making and complex musculoskeletal and spine interventions. I have numerous publications and presentations; and am an invited speaker at conferences.

As a qualified Sports Medicine physician, I uses diagnostic and interventional imaging in management of sports and musculoskeletal injuries. I am a radiologist for India cricket team.

I am former clinical director of radiology and imaging, RNOH Stanmore. I am educational supervisor for radiology trainees in the London Deanery. I am an elected member of the Faculty Board at the Royal College of Radiologists, actively shaping the future of radiology. I am past Treasurer of the British Society of Skeletal Radiologists. I am member of various national and international societies, including International Skeletal Society.

My global impact is through executive membership in the British Indian Skeletal Society; an honorary visiting Professorship in Chennai, India; and faculty roles in India at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Whitefield, and Puttaparthi.

My zen is in adventure motorcycle touring.

His private practice is based at RNOH Stanmore, HCA hospitals (Elstree Waterfront / PGH / PMC / ISEH / LDC / Wellington) and Spire hospitals (SBDC / Bushey / Harpenden).
