About us

Rhys Chong is a New Zealand trained Sports and Spinal Physiotherapist with 25+ years experience. He completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Physiotherapy in 1998 and has taught and trained Post Graduate physiotherapists since 2001. He started his own Physiotherapy business in 2007. His clinic is called Physical Edge Ltd and is based in South Kensington, London, United Kingdom.

Rhys has been passionate about health for as long as he can remember. It started with his passion for sport and then living a healthy lifestyle to maximise energy and have freedom of movement in his body. Rhys works daily as a Physiotherapist but also trains regularly in the gym and has completed an Ironman and the Etape du Tour (amateurs stage of the Tour de France). His book First Time Ironman was released in 2012.

Rhys enjoys cooking and has trained in eating for health. He pushes his body to the limit and understands what to do to make food support peak performance or a hectic lifestyle. The key is not always the nutritional knowledge but the implementation of good nutrition into each persons lifestyle.

From the age of 12 Rhys wanted to be a Physiotherapist. He had a natural instinct to help people who were in Physical and Emotional distress. He cared about the effect these stresses were having on each persons life and wanted skills to change the pain they were experiencing. The ability to sense what has happening in the body came naturally to Rhys and Physiotherapy suited his passion for helping others, sport and health. To complement his work as a Physiotherapist he has also trained in NLP and life coaching.

Rhys believes Physiotherapy can work if clients are active participants in their own rehabilitation. The body requires time to change and must be directed on the correct path to healing. Rhys likes to relieve pain as fast as possible but also requires input from each client to facilitate permanent pain relief. He works hands on with clients and then, like a coach, provides clear, concise and effective directions to help clients create a pain free lifestyle.
