About me
With 23 years of Private Physiotherapy experience,
I am passionate in the belief that the successful outcome of treatment intervention relies on team work between the clinician and patient.
Therefore, educating the Patient regarding the nature of their condition, following a thorough assessment and examination, is key to the Patient making the right choices in terms of following rehabilitation advice and self-management strategies.
The long term outcome of successful treatment requires a good level of understanding by the Patient regarding how to maintain the improvement and follow the rehabilitation plan.
Areas of interest
Low back pain and sciatica: Generally speaking, so many people suffer with low back pain, but do not understand the causes.
Trauma related back pain makes rational sense, however, the vast majority of sufferers have no relationship or history of injury, they just develop pain for the most innocuous reasons...."I bent down to pick up a sock and my back went"
Treatment of this type of condition requires careful assessment to provide appropriate treatment modalities, which can involve manual hands on therapy, acupuncture, postural correction training, manual handling training, remedial exercises, core and strength conditioning.
Once you have a thorough understanding of the vulnerabilities inherent in your condition, you are better equipped to self-manage and maintain a healthier back for life.
These are the principles I apply to all musculo-skeletal conditions and for all age groups.
