About me

Mr Hashim is a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Director of the Urodynamics unit at the world–renowned Bristol Urological Institute, and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Bristol. He graduated from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry in London, England. Following that he completed his basic surgical training in London and Oxford where he obtained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. This was followed by two years of clinical research at the Bristol Urological Institute, and was awarded a Doctor of Medicine (MD) research degree by the University of London for his thesis entitled, ‘Antidiuresis in overactive bladder syndrome’.
Mr Hashim completed his urology training in the South West of England followed by three clinical fellowships in female and functional urology, neuro-urology, pelvic reconstruction and urodynamics in Leuven (Belgium), Leicester (England) and London (England). He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Fellow of the European Board of Urology and his main research interests include the overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, nocturia and urodynamics.
Mr Hashim is a committee member of the European Association of Urology Strategic Planning Office, the International Consultation on Incontinence Urodynamics committee and an editorial board member of Neuro-urology and Urodynamics. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles, 35 book chapters and 4 books, and is a reviewer for several national and international journals. He has also been an invited speaker to most national and international meetings and has taught urodynamics both nationally and internationally, at the highly successful Certificate in Urodynamics course, which he directs, and is being held in the United Kingdom, the Middle-East and the Far-East.
