About me
It can take strength to decide to seek out a Therapist, sometimes the decision is quite sudden, in response to an event, or arises from the "tipping point" of realising that input from a trained professional, is worth exploring. The majority of patients decide to see a therapist in order to access support, and develop insight and coping strategies in response to their current or previous life difficulties.
The action of booking and attending an appointment indicates a motivation to start addressing one, or more of the many issues that weigh on our well-being and sense of self.
I completed a doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Liverpool University and worked in the NHS seeing patients whom had both psychological and physical challenges at that time. I hope that I provide a welcoming, supportive and helpful setting for those who take the decision to try therapy.
Areas of interest
My areas of interest and experience include working with adults experiencing anxiety and/ or depression, either as distinct or co-existing states.
Referrals frequently mention work related and/ or family relationship stress; coping with bereavement; coping with significant life changes, e.g.relationship issues; coping with on-going physical illness and the impact of this on psychological well-being. Intrusive anxiety and distressing thought patterns can interrupt sleep and impact on every day functioning.
