About me

Lazarus Nono BSc (Hons) Ost, DO, MSc PAM, Osteopath & Lecturer.

A graduate of:

1. The British School of Osteopathy 1997, now the University College of Osteopathy.
2. University College of London in 2014.

Osteopaths are recognized as Allied Health Professionals by NHS England in the same way as physiotherapists, podiatrists, and paramedics.

Osteopaths are fully trained in diagnosis and use many of the procedures employed by medical doctors. More specific clinical tests may also be carried out or a referral made if it is deemed necessary.

Since graduating from the British School of Osteopathy in 1997, my hands on Osteopathic skills have been influenced by working in a variety of practices including time spent as the in-house Osteopath at Clifford Chance and the Foreign Office.

Since 2001, I have been a tutor at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine teaching subjects ranging from anatomical studies to diagnostic reasoning and clinical skills. Being in the teaching environment, I have been fortunate to work with a diverse group of Osteopaths and students affording me a multi-faceted Osteopathic approach.

Prior to becoming an Osteopath, I trained in Classical Ballet, Jazz, and contemporary dance. My professional dance career was brought to an end by dance-related injuries. Fortunately, I have been able to continue my passion for the performing arts by dancing Argentine Tango.

In 2014 I was awarded a Master’s degree in Performing Arts Medicine from the University College of London. The course further focused my understanding of performance-related injuries, not only for those from a dance background but also for singers, musicians, and all those required to bring a production to life.

In June 2018, I joined the British Association of Performing Arts Medicine, at their new clinic. The role involves assessing performing artists from all disciplines (Musicians, Dancers, Actors, and others essential to bringing a performance to the stage) with the objective of diagnosing, and where appropriate referring to other healthcare disciplines. Also recommending exercises or other methods of working to manage or alleviate the presenting problem

I continue to hone my skills by attending postgraduate Osteopathic and Performing Arts courses alongside the practical experience gained by treating a wide range of musculoskeletal problems.
