About me

Max Atkinson graduated with Distinction from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 1995 and has over 30 years of clinical experience.

Throughout his career, Max has undertaken extensive postgraduate training in the UK and internationally, with particular interests in musculoskeletal medicine, biomechanics, rehabilitation and the assessment and management of persistent or complex musculoskeletal problems. He has also lectured at international chiropractic events and has been involved in postgraduate chiropractic education.

Max sees patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including back and neck pain, sciatica, headaches associated with the neck, joint and extremity problems, sports and overuse injuries, and persistent or recurrent pain.

His approach is individualised and evidence-informed, combining appropriate manual therapy with soft-tissue techniques, exercise rehabilitation, postural and ergonomic advice and, where appropriate, biomechanical and gait assessment.

Max believes that careful assessment is fundamental to successful treatment. Where chiropractic treatment is not appropriate, or where further investigation or specialist medical assessment is indicated, he will explain this clearly and refer accordingly.

His aim is not simply to relieve symptoms, but wherever possible to identify contributing factors, restore function and help patients reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
