About me

In the early 1980's I trained and worked in Singapore as a counsellor. On returning to the UK I continued my training at Relate, working for them as a couple counsellor and psychosexual therapist for 8 years, after which I was appointed as senior counsellor with a busy GP practice, treating a diverse group of patients. I ran a private practice from my home and also treated patients at The Priory Hospital Chelmsford. I worked as a senior psychosexual psychotherapist and supervisor for Mind the mental health charity from April 2014 until the clinic ceased in July 2020.
I also practice as an EMDR therapist which is recognised by NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence). This is a powerful technique used to treat a variety of conditions such as phobias, anxiety related issues and trauma. I am a volunteer therapist for The Association for Postnatal Depression.
In 2018 I was accepted by COSRT as an Accredited Clinical Supervisor, supervising both trainee and experienced therapists.
