About me

Anne's 38-year career as a dietitian includes clinical posts in NHS dietetics, private practice, research, and senior management positions in the medical nutrition industry. Anne's extensive clinical experience has been developed through her work in gastroenterology, surgery, intensive care, cancer and palliative care, neurorehabilitation, rheumatology, and nutrition support in the community. Anne currently combines clinical practice with freelance consultancy work and has a Doctorate in Health in which the focus of the research was on the patient and carer experience of nutrition in cancer care. In clinical practice, Anne works with clients to facilitate their understanding of medical conditions and provides insights into how diet can be used to influence health and manage symptoms. Translating the science of nutrition into practical and acceptable solutions, Anne seeks to support individuals to adjust food choices and activity to optimise health, well-being, and recovery. She has been awarded several national prestigious awards for her contribution to nutrition and dietetics and dedicates considerable personal time to work with national organisations and charities with the aim of influencing the standards and provision of nutritional care across the UK. She is Director of the Malnutrition Pathway www.malnutritionpathwy.co.uk which provides free to access resources for health and care professionals, patients and their families on nutrition support in long-term conditions including cancer and COPD.
Anne is a guest lecturer at several Universities in the UK, presents at both National and International meetings on a regular basis, is Editor of Complete Nutrition and has published widely on nutrition and diet therapy (see publications at https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0780-7707 )
