About me

Mr Norton has worked as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist since 1984. He qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in the 1970’s and has since trained as a Behavioural Psychotherapist, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Psychosexual Therapist and EMDR Therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
Having worked in the NHS for 37 years, he is now Senior Lecturer in CBT at the University of Cumbria and accredited CBT therapist. Since 2008 he has been Course Director for the Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in CBT, training over a hundred experienced Mental Health professionals in CBT at the Lancaster and Carlisle campuses. He has worked in private practice as therapist and trainer since 1989.
