About me
From my professional background as a mental health nurse I initially trained as a cognitive behavioural therapist at the Maudsley Hospital with Prof. Isaac Marks in 1980. I went on to develop and lead NHS CBT services in Haringey, North London and then in Chelmsford, Essex where I continued to practice until I retired in 2009. I had previously updated my skills by completing the Post-graduate Diploma in Cognitive Therapy at Oxford University in 1998 before beginning a 10 year part-time secondment from my NHS post to
Anglia Ruskin University where I developed and led the Bachelor of Science (Hons) and Master of Science Cognitive Behavioural Therapy programmes. I completed a Master of Arts in Learning and Teaching at Anglia Ruskin in 2006 and an Master of Science Advanced Cognitive Therapy Studies at Oxford University in 2008.
I have been accredited as a cognitive behavioural therapist with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) since 1994 and as a CBT Trainer and Supervisor since 2012 but no longer provide CBT training.
I now practice privately providing a clinical service and individual case supervision to other CBT therapists. I maintain high clinical standards of practice by attending regular professional training and by participating in regular clinical supervision.
I only provide sessions on Fridays on-line and on Saturday mornings in my clinic in Danbury.
