About me

DR NIHARA KRAUSE
BSc (Hons), Msc, PsychD, C.Psychol, CSci, AFBPSs

A Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society and the Health Professionals Council, Dr Krause has over 23 years experience assessing and treating emotional, behavioural and psychological issues. She is qualified to deal effectively with complex psychological problems.

Dr Krause has specific expertise in treating anxiety, depression, eating disorders, OCD, pain, self-harm and trauma. Her treatment approach is predominantly Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Schema Based Treatment, but she is flexible in the use of other evidence based treatment models and will integrate these as suitable to the particular needs of the referral.

As an NHS consultant she set up a specialist day and out-patient service in eating disorders, and worked as an advisor developing current training guidelines for eating disorders on the Clinical Doctorate course for the British Psychological Society.

With considerable experience in child and teenage mental health, and a passion about early intervention, she was the founder of STEM4, a charity aimed at stemming teenage mental illness in the form of eating disorders, depression, self-harm and addiction.

A visiting lecturer for the University of Surrey, on both the Clinical Doctorate in Psychology and the Counselling Psychology/Masters; Dr Krause has extensive teaching experience. She also offers clinical supervision and training to health professionals. Dr Krause is a renowned speaker on developing emotional resilience in schools and universities.
