About me
Dr Nick Perry is a Consultant Anaesthetist at The Royal Marsden Hospital, specialising in perioperative care and anaesthesia for major cancer surgery.
He studied Medicine at Imperial College London, graduating with Distinction and a First Class BSc in Surgery and Anaesthesia. He completed his specialist training within the Imperial School of Anaesthesia.
In 2016, he was awarded a prestigious Cancer Research UK Clinical Research Fellowship to undertake a PhD in Cancer Metabolism in the laboratory of Dr George Poulogiannis at the Institute of Cancer Research. He subsequently continued his academic training as an NIHR Clinical Lecturer in the same laboratory before being appointed as a Consultant at The Royal Marsden Hospital.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Perry leads an active programme of translational research investigating how anaesthesia and other perioperative interventions influence cancer biology, with the goal of improving long-term cancer outcomes. His broader work focuses on optimising the perioperative pathway through prehabilitation, nutrition, exercise and treatment of anaemia, and on working with the wider multidisciplinary team to integrate perioperative care with each patient's overall cancer treatment.
Areas of interest
