About me

Hello, thank you for being interested in finding out more about me. I'm a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of experience supporting people to navigate a variety of emotional wellbeing challenges and life transitions.

Whilst I can work with most mental health challenges, I particularly specialise in supporting people to manage the impact of traumatic life events, bereavement, major life transitions, stress, and acute or chronic health conditions (including cancer).

Common themes in the work I do include living with uncertainty, managing stress, adjustment to new circumstances, body image changes, dealing with loss and reorientation, finding meaning and purpose, coping with stress and overwhelm, and healing from the impacts of traumatic events.

My approach is first and foremost centred around your needs, your history, and who you are as a whole person. I believe in bringing my authentic self to the work we do together and want to create a trusting and respectful space where we can safely explore the challenges you are experiencing. Talking about difficult emotions can be a daunting task, and I want to do what I can to make the process easier for you.

In my work I draw on a range of evidence based therapeutic interventions to help people to better understand themselves, find ways of coping with difficulties, and work towards meaningful and lasting change. My aim is to help you find the path forward, especially if you are feeling lost amidst everything happening around you. Together we will find the right approach for you, using evidence-based interventions along with practical human guidance.

Please get in touch to discuss if we could work together and for my availability by emailing contact@solmirapsychology.co.uk
