About me
I am an accredited psychotherapist and clinical supervisor with over 20 years' experience supporting people through periods of change, emotional difficulty and personal growth. Offering local face-to-face sessions in Bakewell, and convenient video/online therapy to clients across Derbyshire, Sheffield, Chesterfield and UK-wide."
Throughout my career I have worked across mental health, education, charity and private practice settings, supporting adults, children, adolescents, parents, carers and professionals. My experience includes working alongside occupational therapists, psychiatric nurses, school nurses, pastoral teams and specialist NHS services, including Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
Many people come to therapy when something no longer feels quite right, or when they find themselves at a crossroads in life and unsure of how to move forward. You may be experiencing anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, grief, loss, trauma, health anxiety, low self-esteem or the impact of difficult life experiences. You may also find yourself questioning long-standing patterns, reflecting on a significant life transition, or feeling disconnected from yourself and unsure of your next steps.
My approach is integrative, client-led and conversational. I believe therapy works best when it begins with your experience rather than a predetermined agenda. Together we create a space where you can talk openly about what is happening in your life, explore thoughts and feelings at your own pace, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself. Drawing on over 20 years of experience, I tailor my approach to your individual needs rather than fitting you into a particular model of therapy.
I have particular interests in anxiety, neurodiversity, childhood experiences, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, life transitions and the lasting impact of family relationships. I am also interested in the wider meaning people make of their experiences, including questions of identity, purpose, belonging and personal growth that can emerge during times of change.
Alongside my therapeutic work, I have extensive experience as a clinical supervisor in both corporate and private practice settings, providing individual and group supervision and delivering continuing professional development training for therapists and helping professionals.
Clients often describe me as warm, thoughtful, intuitive, and easy to talk to. My aim is to provide a space where all parts of you are welcome and where lasting change can emerge through greater understanding, self-compassion and connection.
I offer session in person at my practice in Bakewell and online via Zoom.
