Mr Lovasz is a highly experienced consultant orthopaedic surgeon with over 43 years of practice. He specialises in hip and knee replacement surgery, including same-day discharge arthroplasty, as well as hand, wrist, foot and ankle surgery. He has performed more than 7,000 surgical procedures in the UK and is orthopaedic lead at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Barlborough, where he pioneered day-case joint replacement. Mr Lovasz uses high-quality implants with well-established surgical techniques, and consistently involves patients in shared decision-making.

Lovasz G, Aros A, Toth F, Va Faye J, La Malfa M (2021). Introduction of day case hip and knee replacement programme at an inpatient ward is safe and may expedite shortening of hospital stays of traditional arthroplasties. Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research, 16, 585.

• Lower limb arthroplasty, his primary specialist focus, encompassing both primary and complex revision cases
• Day-case and ambulatory joint replacement, as a pioneer of same-day discharge hip and knee arthroplasty, Mr Lovasz has a particular interest in optimising enhanced recovery protocols to reduce hospital stays and improve patient outcomes
• Regional anaesthesia in joint replacement, use of regional block techniques to facilitate rapid mobilisation post-operatively
• Patient-centred care and shared decision-making, Mr Lovasz consistently involves patients in treatment planning and places emphasis on clear communication and informed consent
• Improving access to orthopaedic surgery, committed to making high-quality joint replacement accessible to patients.
