About me
Dr Yahya Makkeyah is a Consultant Nephrologist and Hypertension Specialist with over twenty years of experience in kidney and blood pressure medicine, practising at NHS and private clinics in Leicester and the East Midlands.
At the University Hospitals of Leicester, he leads the Hypertension programme within the Department of Nephrology, with a particular focus on blood pressure conditions linked to kidney artery disorders. His wider expertise covers the full range of kidney conditions from early-stage chronic kidney disease and diabetic kidney disease through to complex autoimmune conditions, vasculitis, and kidney transplantation. He has over twenty years of dedicated transplant nephrology experience.
Dr Makkeyah holds the highest UK specialist qualifications, including Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP London) and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Renal Medicine. He obtained his MD (PhD) from Ain Shams University and has trained and practised across the UK, Kuwait, and Egypt.
