About me

I completed most of my urology training in NZ where I worked for a year with the team that invented and developed Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP).

HoLEP is the most well researched, effective and durable endoscopic prostate disobstructing procedure for treating bothersome urinary symptoms and catheter-dependent urinary retention due to Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia. I have been doing HoLEP surgery since 2002 and moved to the UK in 2003 when I was one of the first to perform HoLEP in Europe. I am now the most experienced HoLEP surgeon in the UK, having performed more than 3,500 HoLEP procedures. I currently perform around 350 HoLEP procedures each year in the NHS at Addenbrooke;s Hospital, Cambridge and in the private hospitals in Cambridge and the Princess Grace Hospital, London .

I have mentored a number of consultants in HoLEP and lectured on HoLEP extensively throughout the UK and abroad.

I also offer the Urolift and Rezum procedures for treating BPH and was one of the first UK surgeons to perform the Aquablation procedure for BPH.

I enjoy offering a bespoke personalised approach to men suffering from BPH, working with them to determine the treatment option most likely to fulfil their requirements.
