About me

For nearly 20 years, I have worked as a psychotherapist supporting adults, adolescents, and young people experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, with particular specialist expertise in trauma, addiction, and mental health. I am registered with both the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I am committed to providing a safe, compassionate, and professional therapeutic space for every client.

Throughout my career, I have worked within both the NHS and Priory Group services in Southampton and Woking, specialising in addiction and co-occurring mental health difficulties. I have extensive experience supporting individuals affected by trauma, PTSD, complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship issues, and the long-term impact of adverse life experiences.

I have also worked for over two years within a Domestic Violence Unit, supporting women and children affected by domestic abuse in partnership with both NHS and local council services. This work deepened my understanding of trauma, attachment injuries, coercive relationships, and the lasting emotional impact of abuse and violence.

In addition, I have worked within secure units for children and young people, as well as in community services supporting adolescents and young adults aged 1025 experiencing substance misuse and related mental health difficulties. These roles have provided me with significant experience working with complex presentations, behavioural difficulties, developmental trauma, family disruption, and safeguarding concerns.

I am also an adoption therapist and have experience supporting adopted adults, fostered individuals, adoptive parents, and those exploring adoption-related issues, attachment difficulties, identity, loss, and early developmental trauma.

My therapeutic approach is relational and integrative. I believe that it is the therapeutic relationship itself that creates the conditions for healing, growth, and lasting change. I work collaboratively with clients to help them better understand themselves, process difficult experiences, and move towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.

Alongside talking therapy, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy particularly effective in the treatment of trauma and PTSD. EMDR can help clients safely process distressing memories and reduce the emotional impact of traumatic experiences.

I have worked with individuals from many different backgrounds and life experiences and aim to offer a warm, non-judgemental, and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.
