About me

I am a Consultant Neurologist based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow. I trained in General Neurology and have a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of headache disorders. I have established and developed a Headache clinic on the NHS and have been instrumental in the training of a number of medical and nursing professionals who now practice headache medicine in the West of Scotland. I have a particular interest in delivering teaching in headache disorders at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and am a regular speaker at headache meetings in the United Kingdom. I am actively involved in clinical trials in primary headache disorders ensuring that Scotland remains at the forefront of any new developments that take place in this field. I have worked with the Scottish Intercollegiate Guideline Network (SIGN) and National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in preparing guidelines for headache management and assessing new treatments and have been the Chair of the British Association for the Study of Headache (BASH). I work closely with patient organisations to empower individuals and families affected by primary headaches ensuring that knowledge and information about their condition is readily available to them.

Headache / migraine
I am a Consultant Neurologist with expertise in assessing, diagnosing and managing all neurological disorders. I have a declared interest in headache disorders and in particular the management of chronic headaches. I offer a comprehensive diagnostic service for headaches including clinical assessment, neuro imaging and lumbar punctures if required. I endeavour to offer all treatments available for episodic and chronic migraine including oral medications, inject-able treatments, such as nerve blocks or botox, peripheral neuro modulation as well as inpatient infusion treatments.
