About me

Professor Omer Devaja, MD, MSc, PhD, MRCOG
Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynae-Oncology Surgeon

I completed my basic medical training at the University Hospital Novi Sad in Yugoslavia where I did membership in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and research for my MSc in Gynaecological Oncology. In 1995 I came to the UK at St Thomas’ Hospital London to do research in the molecular biology of ovarian and endometrial carcinoma and obtained a PhD in 2000. I completed my general obstetrics and gynaecology training in hospitals within the South East region. I completed subspecialisation in surgical gynaecological oncology at St Thomas’ Hospital London. In addition I did a visiting fellow ship in laparoscopic surgery the University Hospital, Quebec, Canada. I was appointed as consultant Gynaecologist and Gynae-Oncology surgeon to Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in 2003 and I am currently Director for Subspeciality Training for Gynaecological Oncology with keen interest in minimal access surgery.
