About me

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor with many years of experience supporting adults, children and young people through a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. I work in a person-centred and solution-focused way, tailoring therapy to each individual's needs, pace and goals.

My approach is grounded in empathy, respect and genuine care. I offer a warm, supportive and confidential space where clients feel heard, understood and accepted without judgement. Together, we can explore difficulties, build emotional resilience, and find practical ways forward.

I have extensive experience working with children and young people, including within NHS youth counselling services, school-based counselling for ages 7 to 18, bereavement support at the Fountain Centre at Royal Surrey Hospital, and private practice.

I understand that children and teenagers often express distress differently to adults. This may show as anxiety, anger, withdrawal, low mood, school refusal, behavioural changes, low confidence or difficulty coping with friendships, family pressures or change. I provide a calm and trusting environment where young people can feel safe to talk openly at their own pace.

When working with children and young people, I use a blend of talking therapy, creative approaches and, when appropriate, play-based techniques to help them communicate feelings, process experiences and build confidence. My aim is to help them feel more understood, more emotionally secure and better equipped to manage life's challenges.

I offer face-to-face counselling in Surrey as well as online sessions via secure video call.
