About me

Hello, I'm Mark a BPS Chartered Psychologist and BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist based in Portadown, Co. Armagh. I have over a decade of clinical experience across NHS, occupational health, and private practice settings, including senior clinical roles within the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust's Staff Wellbeing Psychology Service, where I supported healthcare staff and teams through workplace stress and trauma.

My approach is warm, practical, and collaborative. I integrate CBT, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and EMDR alongside elements of Schema Therapy to fit your difficulties, rather than applying one model rigidly. Together we'll work to understand what led to your difficulties, what keeps them going, and what you can practically do about it, in a compassionate and structured way.

Sessions are 50 minutes, available in person at my Portadown therapy room or online. My specialist interest is workplace mental health, though I welcome referrals across the full range of anxiety, mood, and trauma-related difficulties.

Areas of interest

Anxiety (including generalised anxiety, panic, social anxiety, and health anxiety); depression and low mood; trauma and PTSD, including workplace and occupational trauma; work-related stress, burnout, and moral injury; return-to-work support; self-criticism, shame, and low self-esteem; perfectionism; adjustment to life and work transitions; stress management and emotional regulation.
