About me
Dr Ethan Troy-Barnes is a Consultant Haematologist at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Associate Professor at UCL Medical School. His clinical and academic work focuses on red blood cell disorders (including sickle cell disorder and thalassaemia), iron disorders, blood count disorders and blood transfusion.�
He attained Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists in 2024 and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy in 2018. He was awarded the UCLH Junior Doctor of the Year Celebrating Excellence Award in 2022.�
He holds national and international advisory roles including membership of the European Hematology Association Specialized Working Group on Red Cells and Iron, the UK National Haemoglobinopathy Panel and the UK NEQAS Haemoglobinopathy Specialist Advisory Group. He is a member of the UK Forum on Haemoglobin Disorders.
