I offer Bupa customers standard cataract surgery on the Full Pathway package option at Royal Derby Hospital, Freedom Vision Newark, Nuffield Health Derby Hospital, Freedom Vision Birmingham, Freedom Vision Chesterfield, Freedom Vision Telford .
This package includes your appointments before and after surgery, as well as your surgery and mono-focal lenses. It means you won’t use up your out-patient benefit or receive any additional bills from your surgeon (or anaesthetist, if you need one) for eligible treatment.

About me
I began my ophthalmic training in India in 1990 and continued my specialist training in the United Kingdom from 1996, developing extensive experience in both general and specialist ophthalmology. Over the course of my career, I have been committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred eye care, helping people maintain and improve their vision through accurate diagnosis and modern treatment techniques.
As a Consultant Ophthalmologist based in Derby, I provide comprehensive care for a wide range of eye conditions, including dry eye disease, blepharitis, allergic eye disorders, and inflammatory conditions affecting the ocular surface. I also perform cataract surgery, including modern micro-incision cataract surgery (MICS), and offer premium intraocular lens options to help patients achieve the best possible visual outcomes.
My principal specialist interest is retinal disease. I have undertaken advanced subspecialty training in this field and have extensive experience in the management of diabetic eye disease, retinal vascular disorders, and age-related macular degeneration. I lead the macular degeneration service in Derby and provide treatments including retinal laser therapy and anti-VEGF injections for patients with sight-threatening retinal conditions.
In addition, I am involved in the management of glaucoma and other complex eye conditions. My approach is centred on careful assessment, clear communication, and evidence-based treatment, ensuring that every patient receives personalised care tailored to their individual needs.
