About me

Dr Ali is a Consultant Rheumatologist practising at Epsom and St Helier Hospitals (GESH), with specialist expertise in connective tissue diseases. She leads dedicated clinics for lupus, myositis, mixed connective tissue disease, and Sjgren's syndrome.

She also has a broad interest in all areas of Rheumatology and General Medicine, enabling her to provide comprehensive, patient-centred care.

Dr Ali combines her clinical experience and research background to ensure her patients are supported throughout their care journey. Her approach is collaborative, personalised and holistic, working closely with patients to create treatment plans that fit around their lifestyles, as well as their cultural and social values.

Dr Ali undertook her undergraduate medical training at University of Leeds, School of Medicine, qualifying in 2010 with honours. Dr Ali's postgraduate rheumatology training was across three world-renowned tertiary centres in South London including Guys and St Thomas', Kings College Hospital and St George's, in addition to a mixture of extremely busy district-general hospitals. Since then, she has undertaken an extra period of research, where her specialist interests include the pharmacovigilance of therapies in the idiopathic inflammatory myopathies at the prestigious at Kings College Hospital, resulting in the award of a grant from Myositis UK and several international presentations and publications in peer-reviewed journals. As an additional part of her research, she was a sub-investigator for numerous multinational clinical trials in myositis and lupus, exploring the key role interferons play in these diseases. She worked alongside respiratory, renal and dermatology colleagues in major tertiary clinics to further hone her skills in the management of multisystem diseases.

Since 2024, Dr Ali has been a substantive consultant in Rheumatology at Epsom and St Helier.
