About me
Mr Amitabh Thacoor is a London-trained, board-certified Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon appointed at St George's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust with a special interest in all aspects of the diagnosis and advanced surgical management of skin cancer, including melanoma.
Mr Thacoor undertook all his general and plastic surgical training in London on the prestigious Pan-Thames rotation at several centres of excellence including Guys and St Thomas' Hospitals, Great Ormond Street Hospital and St Andrew's Centre for Plastic Surgery amongst others before becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and joining the GMC Specialist Register. Mr Thacoor subsequently completed an aesthetic surgery fellowship at Weymouth Street Hospital in central London focusing on facial cosmetic surgery.
Mr Thacoor has a keen interest in teaching and research, having published over 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals and authored several book chapters. He was awarded the prestigious Martin Kelly Prize from the Royal Society of Medicine in 2017 for work on cosmetic surgery tourism and targeted muscle reinnervation.
