About me

Hi, I am Pauline Forster-Fowler

I am an MBACP Accredited Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor offering in?person sessions in Sedgefield (TS21) and online across the UK.

My Integrative approach is grounded in Person-Centred Counselling, it is warm, grounded and shaped around your goals and pace. I provide a calm, steady and confidential space to explore whatever feels difficult or overwhelming.

I bring over 20 years' experience across Higher Education, Mental Health Services, Substance Misuse, Alcohol Recovery and Private Practice. My style is gentle, intuitive and authentic, offering a therapeutic relationship built on honesty, respect and a touch of quirkiness.

I qualified in 2004, gained MBACP Accreditation in 2016 and completed Clinical Supervision training in 2022. My extensive experience, at Durham University supporting students, staff and trainee counsellors, alongside two decades working with adults from diverse backgrounds, enables me to support a wide range of emotional and wellbeing concerns with confidence and care.

Areas of interest

I provide a calm, steady and confidential space to explore whatever feels difficult or overwhelming.

With nearly a decade in Durham University's Counselling & Mental Health Service, I have extensive experience supporting students and staff through academic pressure, identity changes and the challenges of university life and beyond.

I offer steady support through life transitions, including redundancy, career change, workplace stress, bereavement, feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

My work with women includes perimenopause, menopause, emotional shifts and balancing multiple roles.

I provide a safe space for men to explore stress, burnout, relationship pressures and identity and expectations around masculinity.

I work with attachment, burnout, bereavement, bullying, relationship issues, self, esteem, self harm, cultural adjustment, anxiety, low mood and personal development.

If something matters to you, it matters here.
