About me

I qualified in dentistry from Liverpool University in 1990 and in medicine with honours from St Andrews University in 1997.

After doing basic surgical training in Manchester and higher surgical training on the South Coast, I completed a cancer fellowship in Beijing before being appointed as a consultant in Poole in 2005.

I specialise in all aspects of Oral & Maxillofacial / Head & Neck Surgery including, resection and reconstruction of mouth cancer and skin cancer including microvascular reconstruction; facial lumps and bumps; facial pain; salivary gland disease; TMJ (jaw joint) disease including arthroscopy and joint replacement; maxillofacial trauma; facial deformity including orthognathic surgery; oral medicine including mouth ulcers, red and white patches, mouth blisters, dry mouth and burning mouth syndrome; craniofacial and dental implants; wisdom teeth, retained roots, apicectomy and jaw cysts; and cosmetic facial surgery.

I am lead clinician for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Dorset and an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland.
