About me
Professor Patel provides consultation and surgical expertise in management of patients with both common and complex surgical problems such as indigestion, abdominal pain, hernia, heartburn, gall stone and cancer of oesophagus and stomach. Professor Patel provides Gastro-Oesophageal Cancer Surgery and Bariatric Surgery service for inner East London and North East London in the NHS. Professor Patel is a world leader in establishing higher education degrees for acquiring surgical skills by simulation. He pioneered the MSc in Surgical Skills and Sciences at Queen Mary, University of London and has established 'Virtual Reality Surgical Simulation Centre' for training surgeons.
