About me

Mr Shane Bandara is a Consultant Gynaecologist with a specialist interest in urogynaecology. He is the Urogynaecology Lead at Colchester Hospital, where he leads the service for women with pelvic floor disorders.

He specialises in the management of vaginal prolapse, urinary incontinence and related conditions, with particular expertise in vaginal surgery for prolapse, vaginal hysterectomy and continence procedures.

In addition to urogynaecology, he has a strong interest in the management of pelvic pain, menstrual disorders and complex benign gynaecological conditions. His surgical practice includes hysteroscopic surgery, laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and open gynaecological procedures.
