This package includes your appointments before and after surgery, as well as your surgery and mono-focal lenses. It means you won’t use up your out-patient benefit or receive any additional bills from your surgeon (or anaesthetist, if you need one) for eligible treatment.

About me
Mr Shafquat is a graduate of King Edward Medical College, Lahore, Pakistan. He completed postgraduate ophthalmology training in Pakistan and obtained the Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan (FCPS-Ophthalmology).
He subsequently moved to the United Kingdom, where he obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd (Ophth)) and later the Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth).
Mr Shafquat completed his specialist registrar training in the South Thames (London) region and is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council as a Consultant Ophthalmologist.
He undertook advanced sub-specialty fellowship training in Medical Retina and currently specialises in the diagnosis and management of retinal diseases including diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration and retinal vascular disorders.
He has a particular interest in small incision cataract surgery and offers premium intra-ocular lens options, including enhanced depth of focus, non-diffractive lens implants, incorporating advanced optical and AI designed technologies, at Ramsay Stourside Hospital, Stourbridge and The Westbourne Centre, Edgbaston.
Mr Shafquat has been a substantive NHS consultant for 24 years and is the recipient of multiple local Clinical Excellence Awards. In 2020, he was awarded the Macula Society UK, Clinical Service Lead of the Year Award.
