About me
Hello
I'm a warm, person centred counsellor who works with couples, adults and young people. I aim to create a safe, non judgemental space where you can explore difficult feelings, make sense of unhelpful patterns and find practical ways to move forward. With couples I focus on restoring communication, rebuilding trust and helping you reconnect whether you are managing a big life change, navigating conflict, or trying to heal after a breach of trust. In one to one work I draw on relational, cognitive behavioural and systemic approaches to support people through anxiety, low mood, stress, trauma recovery and confidence issues, always adapting the pace and focus to what feels right for you. I also offer practical strategies for managing everyday difficulties and for building stronger routines and coping skills to support long term wellbeing. I also work with young people (12 and over) to help them manage emotions, cope with school and peer pressures, and explore identity and family relationships in a way that honours their growing independence.
I believe therapy is a collaborative process: I listen carefully, ask gentle questions, and offer practical tools alongside reflective space so you can make changes that stick. I am accredited with a recognised professional body, attend regular clinical supervision and keep my training up to date. I offer flexible appointments, including online and face to face options. If you would like a supportive, down to earth therapist who will meet you where you are, please get in touch and we can arrange a first conversation.
Areas of interest
My main interest of work is, with adults presenting with work-related stress, anxiety; relationship difficulties; and menopause-related challenges; including emotional changes and the impact on daily functioning and relationships. I also support clients experiencing grief and loss, offering a safe and containing environment to process difficult emotions.
Whilst alongside young people (12+), I support a range of difficulties including anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and challenges within friendships, family, or school. I adapt my approach to be age-appropriate and engaging, helping young people to better understand their thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and build resilience.
I recognise the importance of the wider family context and can offer support to parents and carers where appropriate. This helps to strengthen understanding and communication, while maintaining clear and ethical boundaries around confidentiality.
