About me

Mr Wain completed his medical degree at the University of Manchester in 2006. Since then he has trained across the North of England in several of the regions prestigious Plastic Surgery Units. He completed his Plastic Surgery Training in 2021 and is on the GMC Specialist Register. He completed Specialist Fellowships in Mohs Micrographic Surgery in Liverpool, and Sarcoma & Lower Limb Microsurgery in Leeds. He also completed an Aesthetics placement during training to gain specialist experience in a range of aesthetic surgeries.

He now works as a Substantive Consultant at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he established the first Plastics Mohs Surgery unit in Lancashire & South Cumbria. He is the Chair of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons Mohs Specialist Interest and Advisory group, and a member of the British Society of Mohs Surgery.

He forms part of the Regional Sarcoma Service and also is the Trust Specialty Training Lead for Plastic Surgery Trainees. Mr Wain also has a longstanding interest in research within plastic surgery. He holds two research degrees, has published in academic journals and textbooks, presented nationally and internationally. He is a regular reviewer for the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery and is currently the Principal Investigator for an International Trial for Skin Cancer Patients (MelMarT-II).
