About me

Mr Cheruvu is a highly experienced Consultant Laparoscopic and Upper Gastro Intestinal Surgeon at Nuffield Health North Staffordshire Hospital, where he has been practising since 2004. With a career spanning more than three decades, he is recognised for his expertise in advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, upper GI procedures, and bariatric (weight loss) surgery.

Mr Cheruvu has been performing laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery since the early 1993, developing expertise in complex minimally invasive procedures. He has performed over 5,000 laparoscopic operations, covering a wide range of upper GI, bariatric, and hernia surgeries.

Mr Cheruvu is committed to offering safe, high quality, patient centred surgical care. He combines decades of experience with the latest minimally invasive techniques to support faster recovery, reduced pain, and excellent patient outcomes.


Education & specialist training

Mr Cheruvu qualified in Medicine in 1984 and went on to complete extensive higher surgical training across several leading UK and international centres:

St George's University Hospital, London; Higher Surgical Training St James's University Hospital, Leeds; Completion of specialist training (2002)
Liverpool; Bariatric and advanced laparoscopic surgery fellowship (2003).

As part of a prestigious Royal College of Surgeons scholarship, he also undertook international surgical fellowships in:

National Cancer Centre, Japan
Royal Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, Australia; Bariatric surgery fellowship.
He then joined the University Hospital of North Midlands (Stoke-on-Trent) in 2003 before transitioning to full time independent sector practice.
