About me

Mr Kwaees is a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon specialising in sports injuries and knee surgery. He provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages, from young children to active adults, with a focus on restoring function and supporting a safe return to everyday activity and high level sport.

He offers private consultations at Euxton Hall, part of the Ramsay Health Care group, and his NHS practice is based at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Mr Kwaees has particular expertise in the management of complex knee conditions, including congenital and acquired deficiencies, instability, deformity correction, soft tissue repair and reconstruction, and advanced cartilage and meniscal procedures. His practice also includes osteotomy and joint replacement surgery. He is the first surgeon to complete the only superspecialist paediatric to adult knee fellowship of its kind worldwide, and has undertaken further specialist knee fellowships in San Francisco in the United States and in Shanghai, China.

He holds dual certification in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine in both the United Kingdom and Europe, and has completed multiple advanced degrees in human biomechanics, sports medicine through UK institutions and the International Olympic Committee, and health system modernisation.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Kwaees is actively involved in medical education, teaching medical students, junior doctors and senior clinicians both nationally and internationally. He has a strong interest in research and innovation in knee surgery and currently serves as research lead at his NHS trust.
