About me
I work across all levels of trauma, from single?incident events to chronic, complex; and inclusive of childhood developmental trauma. My specialist areas include sexual violence and domestic abuse. I bring extensive experience to my practice supporting individuals and supporting services to navigate these impacts with dignity, clarity, and choice.
My approach integrates psychological theory, neurobiological insight, and safeguarding expertise, grounded in a commitment to inclusivity, relational safety, and collaborative practice. I focus on creating an environment where people feel respected, understood, and empowered to move at a pace that feels right for them.
With over two decades of experience across NHS, statutory, and voluntary sectors, I maintain rigorous compliance with professional, ethical, and legal standards, ensuring that all aspects of my workfrom assessment to intervention to documentationare aligned with best practice, sector guidance, and robust governance frameworks.
Areas of interest
Trauma can arise from many different situations-accidents, losses, frightening events, or long term exposure to stress or harm. Some people come to me because they've experienced a single incident that has stayed with them, while others are living with the effects of chronic or complex trauma that has shaped their sense of self, safety, and relationships over time. You may be experiencing intrusive memories, nightmares, or flashbacks that catch you off guard. You might feel constantly on alert, scanning for danger even when you know you're safe. Some people describe feeling numb or disconnected, as though they're watching life from the outside. Others notice strong emotional reactions that feel out of proportion to what's happening in the moment. All of these responses make sense in the context of what you've lived through, and together we can work gently to understand and ease them.
